چکیده
Anecdotal evidence from industry and research studies acknowledges the shortcomings of current frameworks tools, such as COBie add-ins made available by major BIM tool vendors. A primary challenge is that tools heavily rely on manual data entry. Manual input time-consuming prone to human errors or omissions. Very few open IFC web-based exist support information exchange for facilities management eliminate excess redundancy input. This paper adopts a software development process create an prototype bridge gap in existing semi-automated COBie. The created was tested using three case studies. Findings test revealed challenges prototype's application highlighted need replicating extracted cloud server via linked servers SQL. Finally, future work proposed, delineating necessity simplifying proposed system integrating desktop services into one integrated system.

متن کاملMDA-based facility management applications under BIM
Purpose The recent research trend of building information modelling (BIM) involves interoperability and issues pertaining to the design, construction, operations, and maintenance phases of a building. However, few researchers are concerned with problems encountered in the last two phases of the building life cycle. Since BIM has been widely used in the design and construction phases, further ex...
متن کاملIFC BIM-Based Methodology for Semi-Automated Building Energy Performance Simulation
Building energy performance (BEP) simulation is still rarely used in building design, commissioning and operations. The process is too costly and too labor intensive, and it takes too long to deliver results. Its quantitative results are not reproducible due to arbitrary decisions and assumptions made in simulation model definition, and can be trusted only under special circumstances. A methodo...

متن کاملIntegrating BIM and Safety: An Automated Rule-Based Checking System for Safety Planning and Simulation
Safety planning in the construction industry is generally done separately from the project execution planning. This separation creates difficulties for safety engineers to analyze what, when, why and where safety measures are needed for preventing accidents. Lack of information and integration of available data (safety plan, project schedule, 2D project drawings) during the planning stage often...
